This
is a legal way of giving you the power to manage the financial
affairs of someone else when it is difficult for that person
to manage them for his or her self, perhaps because of a
physical disability.
You will normally be a relative, friend, or solicitor appointed
as their “attorney”. Nobody can assume power of
attorney; it has to be donated willingly. The donor decides
who to appoint as attorney, and can cancel the arrangement
at any time.
