Hywel Davies

Hywel has 27 years’ post qualification experience specialising in civil litigation and, in particular, personal injury and clinical negligence.

He had the advantage in his early career of working from both Defendant and Claimant perspectives in previous employments with large commercial firms. He also has considerable past experience in the area of employment law and commercial litigation. As such he is able to take a good overall view of a claim and to take a commercial and economic view including its cost effectiveness and negotiations towards settlement. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, Welsh Personal Injury Lawyers Association, Action Against Medical Accident and is a longstanding member of the Law Society Specialist Personal Injury Panel and Clinical Negligence Panel.

He is regularly called upon by the Legal Services Commission to adjudicate upon legal aid appeals and serves on the South Wales Accord Medical Experts Committee.
